Sonam Raghuvanshi among 4 arrested in Uttar Pradesh for murdering husband Raja

Sonam Raghuvanshi arrested for husband Raja’s murder: The Honeymoon murder case in Meghalaya took a sharp and unexpected turn with police arresting Sonam Raghuvanshi in Uttar Pradesh, eighteen days after she went missing with his husband Raja whom she murdered with the the help of hired killers.
Sonam was in a relationship with another man named Raj Kushwaha and allegedly plotted her husband’s murder during their honeymoon trip to Meghalaya.
Sonam hired contract killers from Madhya Pradesh, three of whom have also been arrested, while Uttar Pradesh Police are in the hunt for another on-the-run assailant.
“Sonam Raghuvanshi has voluntarily surrendered at the Nandganj Police Station in Ghazipur district, Uttar Pradesh, and is currently in the safe custody of the Uttar Pradesh Police. Necessary legal protocols are being followed for her transit,” Meghalaya Police said in an official statement.
Reports said that Sonam, who remained traceless while her husband Raja Raghuvanshi’s body was recovered in a deep gorge on June 2, called her family in Indore from Ghazipur. She surrendered before police and was later taken into custody.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma also took to social media to provide details of the developments.
“Within 7 days, a major breakthrough has been achieved by the Meghalaya Police in the Raja murder case. Three assailants from Madhya Pradesh have been arrested, the female has surrendered, and the operation is still on to catch one more assailant. Well done Meghalaya Police,” Sangma posted on ‘X’.
