‘Gaurav Gogoi went to Pakisan on ISI’s invitation’: Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma today (May 17) made a sensational disclosure saying for the first time that Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi had visited Pakistan on ISI’s invitation.

“Gaurav Gogoi went to Pakistan on an invitation extended to him by Pakistani intelligence agency ISI and I believe that he went there to receive training,” Chief Minister Dr Sarma told reporters in Guwahati.

“He went there following an invite from the country’s Home Ministry and not from the Foreign Ministry, Cultural Ministry or any university. It is a very serious offence and not a trivial issue. There will be action on the issue and it is not just a war-of-words many people still think it to be. We have credible information on the basis of which action will be taken,” Dr Sarma further stated.

“I will invite all our you to a media briefing on September 10 where I will divulge everything and will also provide evidence to substantiate what I have been maintaining,” he added.

Chief Minister Dr Sarma said BJP has a no-compromise attitude when it comes to Pakistan saying Gaurav Gogoi was “closely working” with the “Pakistani establishment”.

“All escapes routes are closed and all we need is some time to make the proof that we have legally binding. It takes some time for the embassies to provide the details and hence I am saying that I will announce with concrete and legally-acceptable proof regarding the Congress MP’s Pakistan visits and what he did there,” the Assam Chief Minister said.

“I will not speak on this issue tomorrow or the day after but will make everything public on September 10. Till then I request you not to keep asking me questions on this issue,” CM Dr Sarma added.
