Morning showers bring back waterlogging woes in Guwahati: Heavy morning showers that lashed Guwahati on Thursday morning brought back waterlogging woes for residents of several localities of the city.

The showers threw life out of gear, with several areas experiencing severe waterlogging that also led to traffic snarls.

Waterlogging-prone areas like Survey, Beltola, Rukminigaon, Anil Nagar, Chandmari along with parts of the GS Road were among the worst hit.

School students were late in reaching their schools as parents and guardians had a tough time in taking their wards to their educational institutions.

“It has become a daily affair. A spell of rain is enough to spell doom and lead to flash floods. There was water everywhere and I had a tough time in taking my child to school, Shantanu Borah, a resident of Chandmari, told News Live.

Severe waterlogging was also experienced in Jorahat as water coming down from the Meghalaya hills flooded the highway, affecting movement of traffic.
