Five Tourists Trapped in Chhattisgarh Waterfall as Water Level Rises Suddenly

Five Tourists Trapped in Chhattisgarh Waterfall: In a scary turn of events, five young tourists found themselves trapped at the Devpahari Waterfall in Chhattisgarh after the water level suddenly rose due to heavy rains. What started as a fun picnic quickly turned into a life-threatening situation for two boys and three girls, who are now stuck in the middle of the fast-flowing river.

As per early reports, the group was enjoying their outing at the scenic Devpahari location when the river current turned dangerously strong, making it impossible for them to return to safety. Local police from Lemru station rushed to the spot as soon as they received information, and a rescue operation was immediately launched. A special rescue team has also been sent to help in bringing the stranded tourists back safely.

Devpahari is a well-known picnic destination, especially loved for its natural beauty and peaceful surroundings. But during monsoon season, it becomes quite risky, as water levels in rivers and waterfalls can rise suddenly due to continuous rainfall. Authorities have always warned visitors about this danger during the rainy months.

In fact, the district administration has clearly banned entry into all waterfall and river areas between June 15 and October 15 every year, considering the unpredictable nature of monsoon waters. Notices, advisories, and warning boards are put up near such tourist spots, and repeated messages are shared through media to remind people not to go near these areas during the rains.

Still, every year, some tourists ignore these warnings. Officials say they have been requesting people for years to stay away from rivers and waterfalls during monsoon, but many don’t take the warnings seriously. “The water rises suddenly and with great force. It’s not something you can fight or escape easily,” one local officer said.

Right now, the rescue efforts are ongoing, and authorities are doing everything possible to bring the five youngsters back safely. It’s a tense situation, and everyone is hoping for a successful rescue without any injuries or loss of life.

This incident once again reminds us that nature during monsoon can be both beautiful and dangerous. Tourists and locals must follow safety rules, avoid visiting risky places during this season, and respect the restrictions meant to protect lives.
