Himanta Biswa Sarma hoists tricolor at Nagaon

GUWAHATI: On the occasion of 72^nd Republic Day, Assam health, finance and education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma unfurled the tricolor at the Nurul Amin Stadium at Nagaon.

Before hoisting the national flag, Dr. Sarma took the guard Guard of Honour and inspected the parade.

He also paid tributes to father of nation Mahatma Gandhi and other freedom fighters of the country.

In his speech, Dr. Sarma highlighted the contribution of Nagaon district in the freedom struggle of India.

The minister also shed light on the government’s endeavours in ensuring peace and progress in the state.
