BTC is not outside Assam, Hagrama barred ministers from inaugurating state projects: Himanta Biswa Sarma

GUWAHATI: Charging Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) chief Hagrama Mohilary of high handedness and intentional alienation from the state government, senior BJP leader and Assam cabinet minister Dr. Sarma said that the Bodoland Territorial Council is a part of Assam and it should be equally answerable like the other councils in the state. Speaking to the media in Kokrajhar on Friday, Dr. Sarma revealed how the BTC was actually run from inside.

Dr. Sarma said, “BTC is not outside Assam. For the past 15 years Hagrama Mohilary barred ministers from Assam to enter BTC. The state government pays 100 per cent for a school but he will not let it inaugurated by the minister. This is not an outside programme. We regularly visit Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao to interact with the councils and inaugurate projects. Here, they will put us in a room and then send us away without letting us interact with anyone.”
