Five of wedding party killed as Bolero meets accident in Dibrugarh

GUWAHATI: A deadly road accident claimed lives of five members of a wedding party in Dibrugarh district of Upper Assam in the wee hours on Thursday. The accident took place on NH 37 at Lepetkata when the Bolero car they were travelling from Sisibargaon to Bhogamukh hit a standby tailor.

The deceased have been identified as Hem Bora, Madan Bora, Jibak Saikia, Prakash Das and Konpai Bhuyan. All of them died on the spot. They hailed from the Bhogamukh area of Dibrugarh.

“We went to Dhemaji from Bhogamukh for wedding. The accident took place in front of Lepetkata police station when we were returning. While five have died, three persons have received injuries,” said a member of the wedding party.
