Assam registered 875 new covid cases in the last 24 hours

Guwahati: Assam registered 875 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours with positivity rate now recorded at 5.70%.

State health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to his Twitter handle to inform about the new cases. “Alert ~ 875 #COVID cases detected today out of 15347 tests. Positivity Rate- 5.70%. Kamrup M- 214; Jorhat- 159,” said the minister in his post.

Assam recorded another 17 COVID-19 deaths today. The state has been losing people to the deadly contagion on a daily basis for quite some time now. With these deaths, the cumulative death toll of Assam climbs to 655.
