Assam registers 1792 new covid cases, 17 more die of the contagion

Guwahati: Assam posted a total 1792 fresh cases of Covid-19 yesterday out of 28245 tests conducted in the last 24 hours. State health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the information on his Twitter handle.

The contagion has also claimed 17 more lives in the state where the deceased belonged to different places of the state including Sivasagar, Lakhimpur, Dibrugarh, Darrang, Kamrup Metro, Golaghat, Jorhat and Goalpara.

With this, the total number of death toll in the state rises to 625. The total infected covid tally stands at 167374
