Oscars 2021: Special tribute to Irrfan Khan, Bhanu Athaiya by The Academy In Memorium Section
Los Angeles: 2020 has been the worst year for all. The film fraternity across the globe too lost many of their stars who left behind a legacy of remarkable work.

The Academy tried to remember these accomplished filmmakers and artists in The Memoriam. Indian artists Irrfan Khan, and Bhanu Athaiya were remembered, alongside Chadwicke Boseman and other Hollywood stalwarts.
Veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee is listed among the legends we have lost on the Oscars.org’s In-Memorium page, but did not make it to the video.

Bhanu Athaiya won an Oscar in 1982 for costume-designing in the movie Gandhi. She died on 15 October 2020 from complications of brain cancer at a medical center in South Mumbai, aged 91.
