Barring Twitter, all companies comply with new IT Rules of India
New Delhi: Most of the major social media intermediaries barring twitter have complied with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s (MeitY) guidelines on appointing chief compliance officer.

Ministry sources told that most of the major social media intermediaries have shared the details of their Chief Compliance Officer, Nodal Contact Person & Grievance Officer with Ministry of Electronics & IT, as required by I-T (Intermediary Guidelines & Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

Significant social media intermediaries like Koo, Sharechat, Telegram, LinkedIn, Google, Facebook, WhatsApp etc. have shared details with the Ministry as per the requirement of the new rules, the sources said. Twitter is still not following the rules.
