Two mobsters arrested in the Dima Hasao district

Diphu: In collective enforcement by West Karbi Anglong including Dima Hasao policemen two claimed oppressors were seized from Umrangso district of Dima Hasao autonomous region yesterday.

A case in Hamren police station (No 11/2021) under section 386/507/511 of IPC has been filed in this attachment. Arrested persons have been recognized by police as Borlongki Timung aged, resident of Baithalangso general area of West Karbi Anglong, also John Engti, resident of Umrangso, Dima Hasao district.

Both have been brought into police supervision. West Karbi Anglong’s Superintendent of Police Ajagwran Basumatary has denounced the local media that they have been implicated in making demands over the phone to merchants and businessmen of Hamren town with the purpose of unlawful extortion.

One bike, two mobile phones and SIM cards utilized for making exaction calls have been obtained from the arrested persons.
