AHSEC makes changes in HS Commerce Curriculum

Guwahati: The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council has introduced a few changes in the curriculum of HS Commerce Stream that will come into effect in the next semester 2020-2021.

A few subjects have been renamed. For instance, ‘Banking’ has been renamed as ‘Finance’ with no changes in the syllabus. ‘Commercial Mathematics & Statistics’ has been renamed as ‘Business Mathematics & Statistics’.

Business Studies and Accountancy shall no longer be considered as Core Subjects. The students of the Commerce Stream are to appear for both the subjects. In a new development, the students have to secure at least the passing marks in both the subjects- Business Studies and Accountancy.

The marks of the ‘Best Three’ elective subjects will be considered in their division along with the core subjects- English and MIL/Alternative English
