Sahitya Sabha session starts today

People of Sualkuchi are all set to welcome litterateurs and literary enthusiasts from across at the 75th biennial session of the Assam Sahitya Sabha. The biennial session will formally start on Friday.

“We are expecting over 3,000 litterateurs, including local and foreigners, to attend the conference,” said a member of the organising committee. The biennial session has been organised with a budget of Rs. 1.6 crore.

Meanwhile, the current president of the apex body, Paramananda Rajbongshi on Thursday inaugurated the main gate of the Dr Mamoni Raisam Goswami memorial book fair. The newly elected Sabha president Kuladhar Saikia will take over for a two-year term in the biennial session.
