AJYCP Observes Mass Protest Against CAB

The Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chattra Parishad (AJYCP) has taken out a mass protest march demanding to scrap the unconstitutional Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) in the city on Wednesday.
Taking out the protest march, the organization said that CAB is unconstitutional and that they won’t allow CAB to be implemented in the state and other Northeastern region.
The AJYCP members further stated that they are opposing the CAB and threatens the government that they will stage massive protest if the Centre places the bill in the Parliament.
Moreover, ahead of the introduction of Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) in the Parliament, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval on Tuesday reviewed the security situation in Assam as well as in the entire Northeast in New Delhi.
Doval chaired a meeting with the heads of the security forces and paramilitary forces. According to sources, he reviewed people’s perspective towards the bill.
It may be mentioned here that the CAB was passed by the Lok Sabha on January 8 but lapsed in Rajya Sabha. Now, the bill has once again listed to introduce in the ongoing winter session of the Parliament. The CAB seeks to amend the Citizenship Act, 1955 and grant Indian citizenship to people from minority communities – Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis, and Christians – from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan to escape religious persecution.
