Mariani: Magic driver attempts to rape girl

In a sensational incident, the driver of a passenger vehicle attempted to rape a young girl in Jorhat’s Mariani. The girl had to jump from the running vehicle in order to get away from the incident.

According to reports, the incident took place in Pukhuria area in Mariani, when the driver attempted to rape the girl, who was travelling in the Tata Magic vehicle. As the driver approached the girl, she jumped off the vehicle and cried out for help.

The locals in the area immediately rushed to the spot. However, the driver managed to escape from the scene.

Later police seized the vehicle and initiated an investigation based on the complaint lodged by the girl.
