Massive fire guts property worth Rs. 15L in Kharupetia

A massive fire broke out at Gendar Chowk area in Darrang’s Kharupetia on Thursday night. According to reports, as many as eight houses were burnt down by the fire.

The fire broke due to a gas cylinder blast in one of the houses. Reportedly, property worth more than Rs. 15 lakhs and important documents charred to ashes due to the fire.

Later, the fire tenders reached the scene and controlled the fire with the help of locals.
