Notorious wild elephant ‘Laden’ traced by camera drones

Guwahati: Camera drones released by Assam’s forest officials to locate the notorious elephant ‘Laden’ who has been for past few days going on a rampage and killing many, has been finally traced. The elephant has been finally traced to Satabari reserve forest under Rangjuli range.

The elephant has been nicknamed ‘Laden’ by the locals for it has allegedly been wreaking havoc in the area for the last five years. It has been learned that in the last five years, the elephant has allegedly killed 55 people.

‘Laden’ has been roaming around for the past few months after it was abandoned by its herd. The locals have alleged that the forest department has done nothing so far to chase the elephant into the jungle. Protesting against the forest department, locals also blocked the road. Protesters also staged a demonstration outside Matia Police Station.
