80-year-old Assamese man walking home 225 km away

An 80-year-old man, unable to find any transport, was walking home in desolate condition when locals at Biswanath Chariali rescued him, after walking 110 kilometres from Koliabor.
According to the police, an octogenarian, Khagen Baruah (80) of Laluk had gone to Guwahati to meet his son who works there and returned home on the day before the lockdown was declared.
He arrived in Kaliabor on March 23 by bus but from there, could not manage any vehicle to go to Laluk.
So, he decided to travel on foot for two days and reached Biswanath Chariali in bad condition when he was stopped by locals. Realizing that old man is in bad condition, he was taken to Bora nursing home where he was treated for foot sores and took one-day rest.
Later Biswanath Police made arrangement to transfer him to Laluk near Lakhimpur district. He was also robbed of whatever belongings he had in the road.
