October 30 | The Black Day for Assam

October 30, a day marked as a black day in the history of Assam as serial blasts took place on this day in 2008 leaving hundreds of people dead.

The serial bomb blasts that took place in Ganeshguri, Panbazaar, Kachari, Barpeta, Kokrajhar, and Bongaigaon planned by NDFB’s Ranjan Daimary saw bloodshed in these areas.

The day when remembered still shakes the body of the people as 72 lives have been lost alone in Guwahati itself.

On this day every year, people pay tribute to the people who lost their lives below Ganeshguri flyover and at CJM court in Panbazaar.

The families of the deceased urged the government every year to punish the culprits and it’s been 11 years that the victims have not got justice which was promised by the previous and the present government.
