Rashtriya Ekta Diwas being observed across the country
On the occasion of the 144th birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas or the National Unity Day is being observed across the country on Thursday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the ‘Statue of Unity’ at Kevadiya in Gujarat and paid his tributes to Sardar Patel. Later, he will witness the ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Parade’ by personnel of Gujarat Police and central armed forces.
Home Minister Amit Shah flagged off a commemorative ‘Run For Unity’ from New Delhi’s Major Dhyanchand National Stadium. Meanwhile, Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal also took part in the ‘Run For Unity’ march in Guwahati.
