CM orders probe into Morongi incident

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday condoled the deaths of Excise officials in the mysterious accident that took place in Morongi area under Golaghat district. He wished speedy recovery of the injured.

CM Sonowal also ordered a probe into the tragic incident, where three excise department officials were killed. He asked Upper Assam Divisional Commissioner Julie Sonowal to initiate the investigation.

It may be mentioned here that three excise department officials died after their vehicle mysteriously collided with a dumper on Wednesday night. The incident took place over the NH 39 in Morongi area near Numaligarh, when the dumper (NL-05-G-1049) crashed into the vehicle (AS-01-DJ-0801), where the excise department officials were travelling.
