Assam: Cop shoots wife with service revolver in Dibrugarh

Guwahati: In a tragic incident, a Dibrugarh police constable on Sunday allegedly shot his wife with his service revolver.

The deceased identified as Jayshree Chetia succumbed to her injuries at Assam Medical College Hospital (AMCH).

The accused Police constable namely Biki Chetia, a resident of Sivasagar was arrested by Dibrugarh Police following the incident.

According to family members, the incident took place in the midnight hours.

As of now, it’s not clear what triggered the incident.
