Sacked BSF jawan to contest polls

Tej Bahadur Yadav, the BSF jawan who complained about bad food served to jawans on duty and was later sacked from service, announced that he will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Varanasi. Incidentally, Varanasi is Prime Minister Modi’s home constituency from where he will seek reelection.

Yadav said he will contest elections not to win but “to raise the issue of corruption in the forces and how the government has failed the forces, especially paramilitary forces”.

Yadav was dismissed from the BSF in 2017 after he posted videos in the social media to complain about the quality of food served to paramilitary troopers in Jammu and Kashmir.

Claiming that his dismissal from service was completely illegal, Yadav claimed that he will soon begin campaigning in the constituency.
