Won’t rest till promises fulfilled: PM Modi in Assam
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that he will not take any rest till all the promises he has made to the people are fulfilled. Prime Minister Modi said this while addressing three mega election rallies in the Northeast – one at Aalo in Arunachal Pradesh and two at Moran and Gohpur in Assam. While PM Modi campaigned for Dibrugarh and Jorhat BJP candidates Rameswar Teli and Topon Kumar Gogoi in the rally at Polo Field in Moran, he asked people to support Pallab Lochan Das in Tezpur and Pradan Baruah in Lakhimpur constituency.
Here are some of the highlights of his visit to the Northeast:
PM Modi invokes Ahom general Lachit Barphukan’s famous quote that Mama (uncle) is not bigger than motherland, PM says the Congress has “Michel & Quattrocchi Mamas” who are kept above the country’s interests.

I am here to serve the people. I don’t claim to have solved all the problems. How can I make such a claim when a party that ruled the country for 60 years couldn’t do so: PM Modi at Borongabari, Gohpur.
Only a ‘chaiwalla’ can understand the pains of the tea community. Our government, therefore, took up steps to open bank accounts for tea workers and deposited money directly into these accounts: PM Modi at Moran.

This is the birth place of Dr Bhupen Hazarika. I’m happy that we could provide him with the honour (Bharat Ratna) he deserved: PM Narendra Modi at Moran.
At Moran and in Gohpur, Prime Minister Modi began his speech in Assamese and also greeted the people on Rongali Bihu.
My Government did not ignore the Northeast like past governments. I myself and other central ministers have frequently visited the region and have bridged the distance between the Northeast and Delhi: PM Narendra Modi at Aalo in Arunachal Pradesh.
